Erik ten Hag has expressed his admiration for Amad Diallo, who is ending 2023/24 on a high despite struggling with injury.
Amad scored his first Premier League goal of the season in a 3-2 win over Newcastle on Wednesday.
The young attacker has not been among Ten Hag's first choices to start games even when he's fit. However, he's really taken his chances lately and the result was evident against Newcastle.
The Manchester United boss reserved special praise for Amad in his post-match interview, quoted by The Metro: "It was a brilliant goal by Amad.
"You see how young players are developing, like Amad, and I was really pleased with his performance and it was a great goal. He is very good. He has high potential.
"He is a symbol for the season as he had a bad injury.
"He fought himself back and had to wait long for his chance and, against Arsenal, and also against Newcastle, he was very good."
Man United have two games left - an away trip to face Brighton in the Premier League and the FA Cup final. Amad may get the nod to start at least one of those after that performance.
