Amad Diallo – 9
Amad took full advantage of his start and was a menace for the Newcastle backline. He constantly destabilized their backline with his clever movement and won back the ball quite a few times too. Helped to set up the opening goal with a clever pass and then scored a superb goal to put Man United back in the lead. Buzzed like a bee in the attack and deserves more chances.
Kobbie Mainoo – 8
Mainoo showcased immense composure in such an intense game and helped control things in midfield nicely. Extremely proactive all through the game, making two tackles, three interceptions and winning four duels. Scored a slick opening goal with a well-taken finish from close range.
Bruno Fernandes – 8
Fernandes was the necessary glue that helped make things tick in the attacking areas for Man United. He created five goal-scoring chances, playing a part in each goal. Bruno helped the ball go to Mainoo for his goal, took the corner for the second and then assisted Hojlund’s goal, showcasing his importance for the team,.
Sofyan Amrabat – 7.5
Amrabat was able to maintain his impressive form in the midfield by shielding his backline and making up for errors brilliantly. He made a number of goal-saving tackles to keep Man United in the game, and tracked back smartly to ruin Newcastle’s attacks repeatedly.
Casemiro – 7
A much better performance from Casemiro compared to recent games. Even though his positioning for Gordon’s goal was poor, he was much more stable defensively. Made a goal-saving tackle and goal-line clearance in the first half and capped off a solid showing with five clearances, two blocks and winning 5 duels.
Rasmus Hojlund – 7
Rasmus didn’t get to start the game, but made an instant impact from the bench. He shut up his doubters by tormenting the Newcastle defenders with his movement and produced a superb finish for his 15th goal of the season.
Garnacho didn’t have the most electrifying outing at Old Trafford. Couldn’t really set up major chances and wasted a few scoring chances before being substituted.
