Andy Madley has been appointed the referee for the FA Cup final between Manchester United and Manchester City on May 25.
Interestingly, Madley has only refereed one more Manchester derby before this - the 3-1 defeat to Man City in March.
During the 90 minutes, he gave out just one booking and the game ended without much controversy.
Madley was quite delighted to receive the news: "When I got the call with the appointment, I'd just got in my car.
"I have to be honest, I heard 'FA Cup final' and missed the rest of the call. I was stunned - it's an absolute delight and honour to receive this appointment.
"Domestically, it's the biggest game of any referee's career - the one we all dream of when we complete the referee course.
"I can only imagine what it will be like to lead the two teams out in front of a sold-out Wembley. To receive this appointment off the back of my hard work this season is truly humbling."
