Erik ten Hag is aiming to make more prolific signings to improve his Man United squad in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Speaking about the attributes he wants in his signings, the Dutchman revealed: “In the two winter windows, we almost didn't do any business.
“In the first, we brought in Wout Weghorst and Marcel Sabitzer on loan, which were two good ones, but this winter we didn’t do anything. We tried but it didn’t happen. It had to do with the budget and Financial Fair Play.
“I think every manager wants players with winning attitudes and a great mentality, big personalities to perform under stress. In this club it's extremely important to perform under stress.”
Ten Hag’s signings at Old Trafford so far have brought mixed results. The likes of Lisandro Martinez and Rasmus Hojlund have proven themselves as quality players – but the likes of Antony or Mason Mount have yet to properly impress.
Man United are reportedly planning to be quite proactive in the summer window, and are likely to prioritize the signing of a new centre-back, left-back and winger.
