How Man United can line up with Bruno Fernandes as centre-back

Man United are again facing an injury crisis in the centre-back department heading into the Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.

Harry Maguire recently picked up a muscle injury in training, and he will now be out of action for the next three weeks.

While the Englishman now fights to recover in time for the FA Cup final, Man United have a real shortage of centre-back options for the Palace clash. Lisandro Martinez and Jonny Evans recently returned to training, but there remain question marks over their fitness too.

As a result, there have been some calls for Bruno Fernandes to be slotted into the heart of the backline instead.

The Portuguese midfielder acted slotted into a makeshift centre-back role in the FA Cup quarter-final win over Liverpool, and he is determined enough to play wherever need be for Man United.

While Fernandes is himself a slight doubt for this match due to a minor injury, his dedication means that he'll be willing to play for Man United even with an issue - having done so recently with a broken hand.

With that being said, here is how the Red Devils' could line up against Crystal Palace with Bruno as a centre-back.

Man United potential XI with Bruno as CB: Onana, Wan-Bissaka, Casemiro, Fernandes, Dalot, Mainoo, Eriksen, Mount, Antony, Garnacho, Hojlund
