Man United were held to an underwhelming 1-1 draw by Burnley at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday (27 April).
Even a late goal from Antony in the second half couldn’t salvage a win, as a poor error led to the Clarets receiving a penalty that was dispatched by Zeki Amdouni in the 87th minute.
Despite the disappointing result, there were quite a few impressive performers for Man United in the game – including an admirable performance from Antony.
The Brazilian forward was a thorn with his movement all game long and scored a brilliant goal to finally get his first Premier League goal of the season.
Harry Maguire also managed to continue his impressive form at the back, making five clearances, two interceptions and winning 4/4 aerial duels.
Along with him, Casemiro put in another solid shift as a make-shift centre-back and was proactive in cutting out trouble – making three tackles, three blocks and winning 3/3 aerial duels.
Bruno Fernandes also put in a pretty good performance and was actually very unlucky not to be rewarded with something. The Man United captain created NINE goal-scoring chances but was let down by his teammates’ poor finishing.
Erik ten Hag will hope to rally his troops to regain their energy and get back to winning ways when they travel to face Crystal Palace on May 6.
