Scott McTominay sustained a pretty nasty injury towards the end of Man United’s 1-1 draw against Burnley at Old Trafford.
After coming on as a second-half substitute, the Scottish midfielder was basically playing as a centre-forward in the final bits of the match.
However, during added time, McTominay went down inside the Burnley box after seemingly tweaking his knee in a challenge.
He had to go off to the sidelines and need treatment, with the injury being bad enough to rule him out of the remainder of the match.
After the match, Erik ten Hag was asked to update on McTominay’s condition and said: “We have to assess this, to set the diagnosis.
“I don't know in this moment to return [against Crystal Palace next month], I think it's a little bit too quick turnaround.”
McTominay has become the 11th Man United first-team player to join the injury list, as the injuries continue plaguing Erik ten Hag’s side in the 2023/24 season.
