Burnley make statement after their fan caught mocking Munich tragedy at Old Trafford

Burnley have vowed to work with the police to find their supporter who was seen mocking the Munich disaster during the match against Man United.

An aged Burnley fan was seen making a ‘plane crash gesture’ at the Red Devils’ supporters just before Zeki Amdouni scored an equalizer in the 87th minute.

The Clarets acknowledged being aware of this clip and made a statement on Twitter, writing: “We are aware of offensive footage currently circulating on social media from the away end of today’s fixture at Old Trafford.

“Tragedy related gesturing and chanting is completely unacceptable, and Burnley Football Club take a zero-tolerance approach. We will continue to work with Greater Manchester Police, Lancashire Police and Manchester United to help identify and prosecute the individuals responsible.”

Burnley are likely to ban this individual from travelling to their matches if able to catch him and know his identity, with the club strongly condemning disgusting elements like tragedy chanting or tragedy mocking.
