Bruno Fernandes – 9
The Portuguese magnifico worked his socks off from minute one until the end. He was heavily involved in creating the majority of the attacks, creating seven goal-scoring chances! Set up Maguire’s goal with a beautiful cross and then scored a clever goal in the second half.
Diogo Dalot – 8
Dalot was a livewire on the right-flank, not allowing Coventry to create much through that side and often coming up with big challenges. Made five interceptions and also set up the opening goal with a beautiful cross.
Scott McTominay – 7
McTominay came up clutch when Man United needed him again. Got in the perfect area to score the opener, taking his personal goal tally to the double digits for the first time. Showcased positive energy with his approach and played well after a return from injury.
Casemiro – 6
Casemiro had to slot into an unknown centre-back role, but did not crumble under the pressure. He held together a decent defensive line and was actually pretty solid with his work, making three tackles, winning 4/4 ground duels and making 10 possession recoveries. Then undid everything with an awful penalty.
Marcus Rashford – 5
Rashford was again quite inconsistent with his performance. He did get into some nice areas and set up some decent chances, but failed to deliver under the big moments. Missed a huge goal-scoring chance in the first half and often lost his composure in the box, producing frustrating results.
Garnacho was quite ineffective on the right-wing again, not being able to create much at all or posing any threat with his movement. Missed a few prominent chances in the first half and substituted again after a dull outing.
Rasmus Hojlund – 4
Hojlund failed to get much involved in the attacking situations against the Championship side, only completing eight passes. Missed a huge scoring chance from close range towards the end of the game. At least managed to score the penalty with ease.
