Man United might need to continue playing at Old Trafford during rebuild as £1bn financial issue emerges

Man United have realized that it could cost them a huge amount of money to build a new stadium for the club at a site close to Old Trafford, as per the Times.

The Red Devils could end up playing at Old Trafford at the same time that a rebuild work is being done at their stadium. That is because it could cost the club £1bn cheaper if this is done.

Man United could need to pay £2bn if the club decides to construct a brand new stadium at a new site going forward.

This is why the club’s representatives have been conducting detailed anaylsis on the stadium reconstruction process going on at the Santiago Bernabeu and Camp Nou.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reportedly trying to get government funding for the Old Trafford redevelopment, which has attracted a lot of backlash.

The Man United co-owner’s vision sees him wanting to turn the stadium into the ‘Wembley of the North’ and into a 100,000-seater ground in the near future.
