Bruno Fernandes continued his impressive form by scoring a brace in Man United’s 2-2 draw against Bournemouth at the weekend.
The Portuguese midfielder has now scored four goals in as many recent matches for the Red Devils and is trying his best to usher his side to a positive end to the season.
Former Tottenham Hotspur forward Gary Lineker had a lot of praise for Fernandes after the game, as he told the Rest is Football podcast: “He is a very talented player. It would be interesting to see him in a team which was very well structured and going well.
“He has not had that at Man United really. Whether he is part and parcel of that I don’t know but he is a wonderfully gifted footballer.”
There is some truth in Fernanades not being part of a perfectly structured Man United side over the last few years, with Erik ten Hag not being able to stop his side from being overrun in many games this season and conceding over 100 shots in the last four games.
Bruno has, although, maintained admirable consistency since joining the club in January 2020 and has 12 goals as well as provided nine assists in 42 appearances this season.
