As per the Manchester Evening News, Jack Kingdon, 18, has been promoted to Manchester United first-team training ahead of the Bournemouth clash on Saturday.
Harry Maguire and Willy Kambwala, who was also promoted recently, are the only two centre-backs available.
The rest are battling injuries, with Jonny Evans and Raphael Varane joining that list last week.
Kingdon has already completed a training session this Friday as the Red Devils face a tough test at the Vitality Stadium.
Injuries are continuing to wreak havoc causing the team to drop seven points in three games since the end of March.
Kingdon, a natural centre-back, comes into the senior squad on the back of an impressive season for the U18s. He's started 13 games and played 21 times in total for the Academy, delivering a string of impressive performances.
The report notes he's physically gifted, meaning his skills would be greatly appreciated at the back.
