Man United could sell as many as seven first-team players in summer - Pellistri and Greenwood included

According to the Manchester Evening News, Man United are planning for a mass clear-out in their first-team squad for the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils are likely to allow three players – Anthony Martial, Tom Heaton and Brandon Williams – to leave for free after their contracts expire in July.

On top of this, there are also plans to sell a number of first-team players who aren’t considered quintessential to the project.

The likes of Jadon Sancho, Facundo Pellistri, Mason Greenwood and Donny van de Beek could all be sold after returning from their loan spells.

On top of this, Omari Forson – who made his senior debut this season – could also be sold for a profit. Hannibal Mejbri and Alvaro Fernandez could also leave – as they’re not considered as important players anymore.

Man United are likely to look to generate major funds from player sales, which can help boost their summer transfer war chest and aid in signing more quality players to strengthen the squad for the 2024/25 season.
