Andre Onana could trial innovative Glove Spray after using Vaseline in Liverpool draw

Andre Onana was seen applying Vaseline on his gloves during Man United’s chaotic 2-2 draw against Liverpool at the weekend.

This is apparently because when Vaseline becomes wet, it helps to improve the grip of a glove but ruins the condition of the Latex gloves.

Now, as per the Daily Mail, Onana’s representatives are in talks with the company GloveGlu – which aims to help goalkeepers improve the grip and condition of their gloves.

GloveGlu is in talks with the Man United goalkeeper’s glove supplier Rinat and are aiming to ensure that he uses their grip spray over Vaseline going forward.

Onana is reportedly interested by this and has already been sent a bottle of the grip spray. He might even trial is during the upcoming match against Bournemouth on Saturday (April 13) to check out whether it really improves his grip and does a better job than Vaseline.

GloveGlu recently posted a clip on their Twitter account that shows how the spray works and also given a test of how perfectly the material helps the gloves grip onto a football – even if its in wet conditions.

Onana will be hopeful of adding to his clean sheet tally in the Premier League, having picked up eight clean sheets in 31 matches so far.
