Anthony Martial's boyhood club 'reject' chance to sign him (reliability: 4 stars)

According to French publication Jeunes Footeux, a tier-two source, Olympique Lyon were offered the chance to bring Anthony Martial back to the club as he nears the expiry of his contract with Manchester United.

Lyon, however, have rejected the chance to sign the Frenchman, who is ruled out of 2023/24 with an injury.

The Red Devils have decided to let Martial leave as a free agent this summer.

As a result, his agents have begun offering him to a few clubs across Europe, including Lyon.

Despite being 10th in the Ligue 1, Lyon are refusing to bring back Martial. Boss John Textor is reportedly not keen on adding the striker to his ranks even for free.

Having seen a drastic plummet in his value, Martial may struggle to find a new club.
