Lisandro Martinez has joined up with the Argentina squad for their upcoming friendly matches against El Salvador and Costa Rica.
As per ESPN, Man United willingly gave him the permission to make the trip for the matches and hopes to have him back for the match against Brentford on March 30.
Martinez will be involved in some high-intensity training with Argentina in an effort to improve his fitness levels and get back to his optimum fitness.
The Red Devils have, however, made it clear that it would be a preference that Licha not play any minute in the upcoming matches.
Martinez’s return could be vital for Man United, as he can take up that place in the centre-back area and probably partner Raphael Varane in the backline.
The 26-year-old has been restricted to only 10 appearances in all competitions due to persistent injury this season.
