Speaking to talkSPORT, Theo Walcott said: "Regarding Kobbie Mainoo, I didn't have any experience in the Premier League as well.
"It is very different but he is starting to establish himself at Manchester United, one of, if not, the biggest clubs in the world.
"From what I've seen of him as well and going off my experiences, we are quick to jump on new talents coming through, but he is exceptional, really.
"But let's dampen the expectations just a little bit, because as a man of experience, the eyes are on you. And they always will be on you."
Walcott knows a thing or two about dealing with too much pressure too soon as he was named in England's 2006 World Cup squad at 16 years old.
The spotlight followed him during his career at Arsenal and the promising forward ended up not living up to expectations piled on him early on.
