"Absolutely they fought, the togetherness and the performance was very good," said Erik ten Hag when asked for his thoughts on Manchester United's 3-1 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad.
"On another day we could have won this - small margins.
"Especially [Marcus] Rashford he had some good opportunties to score another goal and Alejandro Garnacho at moments [had opportunties].
"I think the plan went well, very small margins so all the credits is to Man City and how consistent they can play."
Man United failed to convert most of their chances in the first half, leaving the game open for Man City to take.
A Phil Foden equaliser led to the visitors' undoing and it was tough to watch after that.
If anything, this game showed the gulf of quality between the two Manchester sides. The result leaves Man United a whopping 18 points behind their rivals.
