However, Rio Ferdinand doesn’t seem to be that upbeat about this derby as he said on his Vibe with Five podcast: “It’s gonna be a long day man. It’s gonna be a long day.
“The Etihad, it’s hard enough to go there anyway, but we’re going there with no confidence. I think we’ll get beat by two goals. Beat by two goals. Convincingly.”
The last time that Man United won at the Etihad Stadium was in 2021, when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side picked up a 2-0 win in a behind-closed-doors encounter.
Man United have not won any game against the traditional Premier League top-4 side away from home this season, and Erik ten Hag will need to produce a tactical masterclass to guide his side to a win – which could also deter Man City’s title charge.
