Bizarre report claims Man United may swap Victor Lindelof to sign World Cup winner

According to Italian news outlet Inter Live, Manchester United may consider a swap deal involving Victor Lindelof and World Cup winner with France, Benjamin Pavard this summer.

Inter Milan signed Pavard from Bayern Munich only last summer for a fee of around €40 million. Although the Serie A side are not keen on a sale, they could be forced to cash in on the Frenchman to balance their books.

Lindelof, whose contract has been extended till 2025, returned from injury to play the second half as Man United beat Aston Villa 2-1 on Sunday.

Although the Swede has been a fairly reliable option - and he regularly started games between September and December - he could find himself on the bench more often following the return of Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane.

Despite Erik ten Hag's initial hesitation to play Varane and Maguire together, the pair has done well in recent appearances.

And that's why, the report adds that the boss would be open to a possible swap deal involving Lindelof and Pavard.
