Speaking to the Telegraph, Gareth Southgate said: "We're five weeks away from picking a squad. So much happens to players over the period between November and March.
"We're always watching and observing everything on and off the pitch. In a few weeks' time we'll have decisions to make on the whole squad, the final squad before the Euros.
"I haven't spoken to Marcus Rashford or many of our players at all since December. I've let them get on with their club football. Generally they are back from their clubs and it's not for me to interfere."
Rashford's place in the England squad — which wasn't a guarantee to begin with — is under more pressure following last month's Belfast incident.
Although the forward has responded with a string of decent displays for Manchester United, convincing Southgate could be something different.
