Mount, Wan-Bissaka & more: latest Man United injury update and potential return dates before Aston Villa trip

Man United just can’t seem to get rid of the injury bug in their squad and there are still quite a few important players on the treatment table with problems.

The Red Devils faced a huge blow at the weekend when Lisandro Martinez picked up a knee injury in the win over West Ham.

He is expected to be out for quite a long time, as we look at the latest update and potential return date for him and the other injured players.

While he has not suffered an ACL (Anterior cruciate ligament) injury, Martinez has hurt his knee pretty bad and will be out for at least eight weeks. He is reportedly targeting a return for the Liverpool game on April 6.

Potential return date: vs Liverpool (April 6)

The Englishman has been out of action for a few months now and is back on the grass working on his fitness again. There is still no affirmative update on exactly when he’ll return, but Mount should not be far from returning.

Potential return date: Late February/March

Wan-Bissaka has missed the last few games due to some kind of an injury, and missed the West Ham game after failing to recover from it. He could make a return at the weekend against Aston Villa.

Potential return date: vs Aston Villa (February 11)

Malacia has not played any football for Man United this season and is another one working all on his own in an effort to improve his fitness. Man United stated towards the end of last year that he’d be back in action after the new year, but Malacia is yet to show any signs of being able to return and might need a bit more time to be match-fit.

Potential return date: Late February/March

Martial had to undergo groin surgery towards the end of January and had been ruled out for at least 10 weeks by the club. With his contract expiring in the summer, the Frenchman has to work hard to feature in the end-of-season fixtures.

Potential return date: April/May
