Altay Bayindir is yet to make his first appearance for Man United and it was expected that he would have his chance in a Newport game, considering Andre Onana's absence due to AFCON.
However, the Onana national team's poor performance could mean Bayindir wouldn't have the chance he expected for quite a long time.
Cameroon sit third in Group C and must defeat Gambia in their final match on January 23rd to have any hopes of reaching the knockout stages of a competition they really dreamed of winning.
The game against Newport in the English FA Cup starts on January 28th, so Onana will have enough time to come back if his national team don't succeed.
Some fans, however, want Ten Hag to give Bayindir a chance to show his skills, especially after not-best Onana's match for Cameroon. His team lost 3-1, and even though the lost match wasn't Onana's fault, he could do better with his positioning during those moments.
