Speaking to Premier League Betting, Michael Owen said: "I find it hard to pick out positive individuals at Manchester United. Since Sir Alex Ferguson left, I'd struggle to name one player who has got to a certain level and improved.
"We saw Paul Pogba and Angel Di Maria arrive for huge money in the past, and we're currently seeing similar things happen with Marcus Rashford and Mason Mount. I'm struggling to think of one player who has got better and better.
"Rashford has had a funny few years at Man United. He's been outstanding at times, yet he's also had quiet seasons. We thought he'd bounced back last season and got back to his best, but this season isn't going so well."
The 2023/24 campaign has been a complete disaster for both Mount and Rashford as both player don't even make Erik ten Hag's starting XI anymore.
The former has failed to justify even a third of his £60 million transfer fee while the latter has returned to his usual inconsistent and uninterested self.
