When Altay Bayindir labelled Edwin van der Sar as his top goalie and a "legend" on Man United's Instagram.
"When I was younger, I watched a lot of Manchester United games," Bayindir said. "My favourite goalkeeper, I say this and Edwin van der Sar is a legend. I know him."
Van der Sar didn't hesitate to respond. His reply was sharp and direct, giving everyone a clear view of his preference in the Man United goalkeeping lineup.
Despite the praise, Van der Sar made it clear that Andre Onana holds the top spot as his favourite Manchester United goalkeeper.
"Hi Altay, will see you soon in Manchester and we will have a chat about goalkeeping but my favourite is still Andre as you will know!" said the Dutchman.
Bayindir, who joined Old Trafford from Fenerbahce for £4.3 million, hasn't seen any action on the field yet. On the other hand, Onana, another summer signing, has been the go-to goalkeeper for every competitive game this season.
