Denmark skipper Simon Kjaer has applauded Christian Eriksen for his extraordinary assist in the 3-1 win over Kazakhstan.
He said: “We’ll come out fine for the second half… It was a good run by Robert and a pass I can sign that 99 percent of the stadium didn’t see, because I certainly hadn’t, and I’m right behind him!
“I look outwards, and then I see him going the other way. It’s Christian. I just walked over and gave him a handshake and I just nodded at him – he knew what I meant. It’s Christian. These are the things he sees.”
Crystal Palace’s Joachim Andersen added: “We talked about it in the dressing room after. Not many people saw it! I think it was only Christian who saw it. It tells what class pass it was.
“It was also a really good race by Robert, you shouldn’t forget that – and coolly kicked in too.”
Eriksen has contributed a goal and three assists in five Euro 2024 qualifying games for Denmark. At Man United this season, however, he hasn't been given much opportunity.
Yet, he has made a good account of himself when called upon. The midfielder has two goal contributions in three Premier League starts.
