Man United to pay much more for Hojlund than first reported - he's among club's most-expensive signings 

The Athletic

 in a deal worth €75million plus €10million in performance-related add-ons.

Should the deal go through, Hojlund will become one of United's most expensive signings.

Hojlund only joined Atalanta last summer, moving from Austrian side Sturm Graz. He registered eight goals and two assists in 31 Serie A games.

The Denmark international also scored five goals in two games during Euro 2024 qualifying in March, including a hat-trick against Finland.

He is set to be United’s third signing of the summer following the arrivals of

The package will be around €70m with add-ons, with both clubs preparing documents in the next 24 hours. 

Hojlund accepted a five-year deal 10 days ago as he only wanted United despite a desperate bid from Paris Saint-Germain. 

The Denmark forward is expected to undergo medicals next week.

I remember Ruud Van Nistlerooy costing £19m, which was then a club record, for a relatively unknown  player but was young with plenty of potential, people raised eyebrows then but turned out to be a great signing. 

If Hojlund turns out just as good everyone will soon forget the price tag 👍
