According to The Sun's Neil Custis, Man United are preparing a second bid of £40million for Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund.
The Premier League club had a £30m bid rejected by the Serie A side a few days ago.
Hojlund is a cheaper alternative to Harry Kane and Victor Osmihen who are out of Man United's reach due to Financial Fair Play constraints after a ₤55m deal to sign Mason Mount.
As a result, they only have ₤65m to spend on a new goalkeeper and a striker - unless they make a sale shortly.
Earlier, Fabrizio Romano reported that Atalanta valued Hojlund at around ₤60m - a steep price for the 20-year-old who only scored 10 goals in 34 games in all competitions last season.
