'The window is a confusing mess': Mark Goldbridge slams the Man United's recruitment department for failing Ten Hag

Taking to social media last week, Mark Goldbridge wrote: "The Manchester United transfer window is a confusing mess. A well-constructed strategy from Erik ten Hag is been predictably dismantled by the recruitment department.

"Ten Hag was working on a budget of around £200 million: £120 million in funds and £80 million raised from sales of Dean Henderson, Fred, Harry Maguire, Scott McTominay, Anthony Elanga, Brandon Williams, Eric Bailly and Alex Telles.

"His targets were Harry Kane (£80 million), Mason Mount (£50 million), Kim Min-jae (£40 million) and Adrien Rabiot (free). The recruitment team has fallen on Kane, Kim and Rabiot and are struggling to get Mount for a decent price.

"They're also struggling to offload players with the Glazers unwilling to take big hits. This had led to a chaos. With the budget in doubt and Ten Hag's well-planned list in tatters, Man United are desperately trying to salvage the mess.

"Man United scramble to create a window Ten Hag can work with. A world-class class-striker is unlikely. A holding midfielder — a necessity — may be ignored to overpay on another no.8 in Mount. Rest assured, Man United are in panicking."

The 2023 summer transfer window is currently in full swing and Man United are yet to announce any first-team transfer to or away from Old Trafford.

The Red Devils' sale process continues to drag on as the Glazers struggle to make a decision, something that will surely impact the club in a negative way.
