Speaking to the Mirror, Barcelona manager Xavi said: "I have a good relationship with the person interested in buying the club, he's a serious person.
"I know him so well. I think he's a very good person with responsibility, serious. I think it would be a very good option for Manchester United.
"I'm sure he’d do a good job. I know him because I worked in Qatar [at Al Sadd, a Qatari team owned by Sheikh Jassim] for six years."
Sheikh Jassim has now reportedly emerged as the favourite to buy Man United, beating Sir Jim Ratcliffe in the race to become the new owner at Old Trafford.
However, the Glazers are in no hurry to make their final decision on the club's future as they still eye a possibility of keeping a minority ownership stake.
