Everton considering Wout Weghorst signing as Man Utd avoid permanent deal

Despite a challenging time at Manchester United, Wout Weghorst may have an opportunity to continue his Premier League journey, as Everton has shown interest in signing the striker.

Weghorst recently bid farewell to his loan club, Besiktas, and joined Old Trafford on a temporary basis until the end of the season. While he contributed to United's Carabao Cup triumph and scored a crucial penalty in the FA Cup semi-final, his overall experience with the club has been less successful.

Considering these circumstances, it might come as a surprise that Everton is reportedly interested in securing Weghorst's services, especially since his previous stint with Burnley was not fruitful.

According to talkSPORT, Everton is looking to sign the Dutchman during the summer transfer window, as Manchester United does not plan to make his move permanent. In his time with both English clubs, Weghorst has made 51 appearances across all competitions but only managed to score four goals.

In previous seasons in the Bundesliga and Eredivisie, Weghorst displayed more prolific scoring form, with at least 15 league goals per campaign. Unfortunately, he has struggled to replicate that success in the Premier League.
