Has Cristiano Ronaldo at least joined a club that plays in Champions League even if Asian? Answered

Cristiano Ronaldo has joined Saudi Arabia club Al Nassr after leaving Man United. He will be the highest-paid player in the world after the deal, earning wages close to €200m a year.

This has ended Ronaldo’s ambitions of playing for a club playing in the UEFA Champions League, but what about its Asian edition?

Well, Ronaldo isn’t even going to be able to play in the Asian Champions League next year, either. Al Nassr has not qualified for the 2023 AFC Champions League or even the AFC Cup (Asian equivalent of the Europa League).

A Saudi club needs to win the Saudi Pro League or the King Cup (domestic FA Cup) to qualify. Al Nassr failed to do either last season.

However, Ronaldo can help them qualify for the 2024 AFC Champions League. Al Nassr are 2nd in the Saudi Pro League right now and in the quarterfinals of the King Cup.
