'It's not necessarily a sale': Avram Glazer breaks silence on Man United's future

Speaking to The Athletic in Qatar, Avram Glazer said: "It's not necessarily a sale, it's a process and we're going forward with the process.

"So we'll see what happens. I'm here to really watch the World Cup but I appreciate your interest.

"That's the update, it's the process and the process is proceeding."

For what it's worth, the Glazer family never officially stated their intention to sell Manchester United, going only as far as to indicate their 'openness' to the potential deal.

It was suggested that the Americans, who have owned the Red Devils for 17 years, would ask for a fee of around £7 billion to sell the club which could complicate talks with perspective buyers.
