Revealed: 4 candidates linked to take over United interim manager role

Man United have begun their search for a new interim manager who can help guide the side until the end of the season.

According to The Times, former United defender Laurent Blanc is being considered by the owners to take over in an interim role.

The Frenchman is currently at helm of Qatari side Al Rayyan and would be willing to accept the job.

Ralf Rangnick is another being considered for the role, but he has some reservations over taking over the job on a temporary basis.

The Telegraph claims that Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui is also being put forward as a potential option for the interim manager role.

However, a rather surprising candidate being considered is Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim.

Sporting are currently undefeated in 11 matches in the Primeira Liga under Amorim, who also helped the Portuguese side win their first league title in 19 years last season.

Michael Carrick has been appointed as caretaker manager for the time being as the club searches for a suitable interim manager.
