West Ham start lining up alternative to Jesse Lingard as talks don't progress - The Telegraph (reliability: 5 stars)

West Ham have started lining up potential alternatives to Jesse Lingard who might not be available to them this summer, according to The Telegraph.

The Man United attacking midfielder remains the Hammers' priority after his impressive loan spell at the London Stadium in the second part of the last season.

However, Man United value the 28-year-old at around £25m, a price tag that might prove to be prohibitive for David Moyes' side.

As a result, West Ham have taken an interest in Nikola Vlasic, a former Everton flop who has come to life at CSKA Moscow.

The Croatian midfielder, 23, scored 25 goals over the last two years in the Russian Premier League.

He is viewed as a younger and cheaper alternative to Lingard who is nevertheless Moyes' priority target.
