Manchester United have reached an agreement with Real Madrid over Raphael Varane's transfer, the club officially announced on Tuesday.
The Red Devils will reportedly pay €50 million (£42.7 million) for the French centre-back who is now set to undergo medicals and other necessary paperwork to complete the transfer.
Varane is expected to put pen to paper a 4-year contract at Old Trafford with an option for a further season. As it stands, the 28-year-old is in line to make his official debut in the Premier League season opener against Leeds United on August 14.
An official Man United statement reads: "We are delighted to announce the club has reached agreement with Real Madrid for the transfer of French international defender and World Cup winner, Raphael Varane, subject to a medical and to player terms being finalised."
