- UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has confirmed that football fans will be allowed to return back to stadiums after the current Covid-19 lockdown ends on December 2.
- As per the new rule, 4,000 fans can attend games in the ‘tier-1 areas’ where the risk of spreading the virus is extremely low.
- In ‘tier-2 areas’ where the risk is slightly higher, 2,000 fans can attend games in outdoor stadiums, while no fans will be allowed in tier-3 areas.
- The Covid-19 restrictions are the most brutal in the tier-3 areas because of the rapid spread of the coronavirus and unfortunately, Manchester is included in this category.
- Johnson will reveal on Thursday whether Manchester is downgraded to tier-2 or tier-1, upon which only can Man United host fans at Old Trafford.
- If allowed to, the Red Devils can see fans back at the Theatre of Dreams in the Champions League game against PSG on December 2.
