The Frenchman is born of Guinean descent. He later decided to convert to Islam as it helped him 'become a better person'. Being a practising Muslim, he observed fasting during the holy month of Ramadan.

Fellaini was born to Moroccan parents and was actually the first Muslim player to captain Man United back in 2017.

Adnan Janujaz
The former United winger was born of Kosovar Albanian parents. However, he converted to Islam later in his life. Janujaz made his debut at the age of 18. He also scored in his first start for the club.
However, things didn’t go his way in the next few years. Janujaz ended up making 63 appearances in his United career, scoring 6 goals and assisting 5.
Mame-Biram Diouf
The Senegalese striker was actually the first registered Muslim player for United back in 2010. He made only 9 appearances for United’s first team, scoring a single memorable goal.
