Paulo Dybala was 'one step away' from joining Man United, agent confirms

Paulo Dybala's transfer to Manchester United last summer was all but official before the Argentine had a change of heart, his agent has confirmed.

Speaking to Tuttosport about whether the 26-year-old was 'one step away' from signing for the Red Devils, Federico Pastorello said: "It's true.

"Romelu Lukaku, however, had always hoped to go to Inter Milan because he was impressed by the affection of the Inter fans."

Man Utd were unable to convince Dybala to move to Old Trafford last summer as part of a swap deal for Lukaku with the 26-year-old opting to stay and fight for his starting XI place in Turin.

Last month, the Argentine became the third Juventus player to be diagnosed with Covid-19 with his girlfriend testing positive as well, although thankfully they appear to be doing well.
