Paul Pogba-Matthijs De Ligt swap could be a 'win-win' scenario for both Man United and Juventus

It's been suggested that Manchester United could use Paul Pogba's desire to leave the club to finally land Matthijs De Ligt this summer.

According to The Sun, who are known to have sources inside Old Trafford, the Red Devils could demand the centre-back in exchange for the Frenchman when the transfer window reopens.

Apparently, the scenario would be a 'win-win' for both Man Utd and Juventus as the Dutch prodigy has so far struggled to recreate his stellar Ajax form for the Serie A giants in his maiden campaign in Italy.

Pogba is said to a priority target for Juve and United are looking for defensive refinements with both with both Chris Smalling and Phil Jones set to leave the club, so The Sun's report actually makes sense.

The Serie A champions beat Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side to De Ligt's signature last summer largely thanks to super agent Mino Raiola, who appears to be firmly against the idea of bringing his clients to Old Trafford these days.

A previous report from ESPN FC, a tier two source, suggested that Man Utd apparently understand that Juventus are unlikely to let the Dutchman leave the club after just season but the Old Trafford outfit side are still hopeful there will a possibility to restart the talks.
