United now ‘quietly optimistic’ of keeping Pogba next season as coronavirus takes a toll on transfer market

It now looks like Paul Pogba will remain at Man United after all next season as the coronavirus outbreak has impacted transfer plans of both Real Madrid and Juventus for next season.

According to Independent - known to have credible sources - the Red Devils are ‘quietly optimistic’ of keeping their star man as not many clubs can match their £100m+ valuation of the Frenchman.

Madrid reportedly made a laughable offer for him last season with a bid of €30m and added James Rodriguez to sweeten the deal, but United weren’t ready to accept the deal. They kept on maintaining interest for him, but the coronavirus outbreak might now change their chance.

Los Blancos’ transfer planning for next season has been indefinitely suspended as they wait to know the financial impact this crisis will bring. Similarly, Juventus were also in risk of breaching Financial Fairplay Rules even before the disease started spreading, but now are in an even worse financial condition.

Their players and coach Maurizio Sarri had to forgo four months of their salaries to save the club an estimated €90m and with revenue not coming as usual, it’ll unlikely they’ll be able to spend big on Pogba.

With his transfer valuation being very high and his suitors unlikely to raise such funds in time for the summer window, it now seems quite certain that we’ll see the Frenchman in a United shirt next season.

Will you be happy if Pogba stays at United next season?
