Who is Sipke Hulshoff, Liverpool's next assistant manager? Profiled

It's common knowledge that Arne Slot will succeed Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, although it has not been announced officially.

It's been previously reported that the Dutchman will take his Feyenoord coaching team to Anfield. His assistant will be Sipke Hulshoff.

Hulshoff also assists Ronald Koeman in the Netherlands national team but the Dutch FA has confirmed today that he'll leave the position with immediate effect.

The 49-year-old's experience of working with the Netherlands means that he has already coached three Liverpool players: Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch.

The Liverpool captain previously spoke highly of Hulshoff. He told Voetbal in 2023: "I didn't know Sipke before this. You have to get to know each other.

"You see what his qualities are and I personally certainly like that. Hopefully he can continue that well. He is very clear and tactically strong. I like the moments when he leads a training session. I think I also speak for the group."

Prior to working with Slot at Feyenoord, Hulshoff was an assistant at Dutch sides Cambuur and Volendam. He managed Feyenoord's U21 side and several other youth teams across the Netherlands. He spent two years as a head coach of Red Bull Ghana, getting relegated from the first to the second division with the club in 2013.
