The Spaniard's problems have been down to a hip injury that refuses to go away, compounded by muscle problems. It's now unlikely that Thiago will play again for Liverpool this season.
The 33-year-old is now set to depart Anfield when his contract ends in June. It remains to be seen if Thiago will decide to retire from football due to his injury problems or continue.
Thiago is among Liverpool's highest earners with a weekly salary of £200,000. The player poses incredible talent but paying so much for someone who doesn't help the team is something no club could live with.
