Liverpool defeated Tottenham 4-2, putting in an excellent performance in Jurgen Klopp's penultimate game at Anfield.
"We came here for redemption really, especially [with] what happened in the away game," Harvey Elliott said in an interview with the club's official website.
"I think we had a point to prove in this game after recent weeks as well and we did that definitely."
In the away game back in September, a Luis Diaz goal was wrongly disallowed as the Reds suffered a 2-1 defeat.
When asked about conceding two goals against Spurs at Anfield, Elliott added: "We caused our own problems again.
"We're disappointed at not getting the clean sheet but it's three points on the board again and it's something that we can build on. Throughout this week we need to reflect on where it went wrong with the goals conceded and make sure it doesn't happen again. But it's three points and that's important."
