Gakpo on Slot: 'Never worked with him ... Very curious'

Arne Slot is widely expected to take charge at Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp leaves the club at the end of the season. Only the official confirmation is missing.

“To be honest, I have never worked with him,” Cody Gakpo said about his fellow countryman, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo. "I know, of course, that he is a very good coach who has shown it at AZ Alkmaar and at Feyenoord too.

“Of course, we played against [his teams] a few times, they were often difficult games. I am very curious and I think we are all very much looking forward to it.

“The focus at the moment is not there yet and is now on finishing the last two games well, for ourselves, for the club, for the coach, and then we will look further at the new coach.”
