Will Joel Matip feature for Liverpool this season again? Jurgen Klopp answers

"Joel [is] running – he hates that! But he is able to run again, so that’s good," Jurgen Klopp said about Joel Matip who is recovering from a serious knee injury.

"I think since he got injured this is the best moment because it was very painful in the beginning, very painful for him [but] he got through that and now he is pain-free. But, that now all takes time so I don’t think the season is long enough for him."

There was always a good possibility that the season was over for Matip after rupturing his ACL in December: such injuries can sideline a player for over six months.

Matip's case is even more dramatic as his contract expires in June. So, there's a chance he may have already played his last game for Liverpool.
