'If you want to buy them, you spend real money': Klopp names 2 players who saved Liverpool millions

"How the boys developed, how Curtis [Jones] developed, how Harvey [Elliott] developed, so many things through that difficult period," Jurgen Klopp has told the media ahead of the Brighton game.

"As difficult as it was, something positive always happened. The very young ones coming in and how they performed, or how the boys who were already with us improved. The step Curtis made is insane and the step Harvey made as well, proper, proper. If you have to buy these boys, you spend real money. And we have them, which is really cool," he added.

The estimated values of Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott have enjoyed some rise this season – from £21m to £30m and from £25m to £30m respectively. Tells a lot about how useful they've been this term.

However, if Liverpool decide to sell one of them in the summer, they could surely ask for more, especially given that their current deals with the Reds expire only in 2027.

Curtis Jones this season: five goals, three assists in 28 games

Harvey Elliott: three goals, eight assists in 41 apps
