Fabio Carvalho joined Liverpool in 2022 and generated controversy last year after admitting that he didn't have enough communication with Jurgen Klopp.
The 21-year-old has clarified his remarks. “It was good. He helped me,” Carvalho told A Bola of his relationship with the manager.
“But when I arrived at the club, we were in a very difficult period, on and off the field. There were problems with the team and he needed to turn to the players he trusted most. I had just arrived and he didn't have the greatest confidence in me.
“I went to Liverpool because I want to be the best player in the world. I think about being the best in the world every day. That’s what I work towards.
“To be the best, you have to learn from the best and work towards it every day. That’s what I’m focused on.”
The forward made 21 appearances in his first season with the Reds, scoring three goals. He left the club last summer for Leipzig, joining on a season-long loan which was cut short in the winter transfer window. He signed for Hull City until the end of the season.
The Portuguese has featured 11 times in the Championship for the Tigers so far, scoring four goals.
