Will Joe Gomez end 8.5-season goal drought? Defender's chances vs Southampton calculated

When, if ever, will Joe Gomez finally break the deadlock and score his first senior goal for Liverpool? The Englishman is Jurgen Klopp's longest-serving player and still hasn't found the back of the net under the German boss.

In the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea, Joe wasn't in the starting XI and stepped in for injured Ryan Gravenberch after 28 minutes. It's quite likely that Jurgen Klopp will start him against Southampton in the upcoming FA Cup clash on February 28.

Interestingly, bookies don't rate Gomez's chances to score as non-existent. As of right now, Megapari odds on the defender to end his goal drought are rated at 15.00 (14/1) which means a 6.7% probability.

At Liverpool, Joe Gomez is the joined-lowest ranked on-field player when it comes to scoring chances: Kostas Tsimikas is placed at 15.00 as well. The Greek full-back is also yet to score since his arrival at Liverpool. However, his goal drought is obviously not as long as Joe's.
