Liverpool's chances drop by 2% despite Burnley win: Supercomputer makes Prem title prediction

Liverpool are first in the Premier League table, two points ahead of Man City who have a game in hand and Arsenal, who have played the same number of games as the Reds (24).

Opta Analyst's season simulation, or supercomputer, says that Liverpool are likely to finish the campaign in second place.

The Reds' chances of claiming the title have dropped to 24%, a 2.1% drop compared to the previous matchweek despite Liverpool's victory against Burnley.

Man City are the favourites to become champions with a 67.7% probability. Arsenal are outsiders in the title race with just an 8.2% chance of claiming the title.

These are, of course, mathematical calculations; algorithms do not play football. And a 24% chance is quite a big probability.

Spurs, for example, stand a 0.1% chance of winning the league, something Ange Postecoglou was informed about last week. The Australian said: “A supercomputer? Does it go to a phone booth and change into something else from just a normal computer?

“What did it say, 0.1%? So, we got a chance then. Let’s go for it. No problems, no issues with that. We’ve got a chance.”

So if Ange belives Spurs can win a title, Liverpool fans can believe in Jurgen Klopp & Co. too.
